Characters: Throughout the years of Pokemon, the main characters often change. However, the original characters, Ash, Brock, Misty, and Pikachu will always remain.

Ash - Ash Ketchum, the main character in each and every season of Pokemon. Ash was a young boy born in Pallet Town who always dreamed of being a Pokemon Master. In the Pokemon world, a child must be 10 years old before they are allowed to leave home and start their journey. The day he turns 10 Ash left home and went on his way. Throughout the years, many things have changed such as his clothing, the Pokemon he kept with him, and his attitude. In the beginning of the series, Ash was very over confident and childish. But as he grew older, he learned more and more and eventually found a good balance.

Brock - Brock was born and raised in Pewter City. His father was the gym leader and the father of Brock and his many brothers and sisters. Brock's father eventually left, forcing Brock to take over the gym and raising his family. When Ash comes to Pewter City to battle Brock, the leader, Brock defeats him but eventually gives him the badge because of his good motivation with his Pokemon. Brock decides he needs to live his life more and decides to join Ash on his journey. Throughout the series, Brock has always been like a father figure to Ash, providing him with help whenever he needed it as well as information all the time.

Misty - Misty was the leader of the Cerulean City gym. Her and her sisters lead that gym for many years training water Pokemon. Once Ash made it to Cerulean City, he challenged her to a battle to win his badge. Their battle is interrupted by Team Rocket, who tries to steal everything in their gym. Ash saves the day, prompting Misty and her sisters to give him the badge. Misty then joined Ash and Brock on their journey. Misty and Ash always seemed to be in love with each other although neither admitted to it.

Pikachu - Pikachu was Ash's first Pokemon. Each new trainer is given one Pokemon to start their journey and since Ash was late at picking one out, he was stuck with Pikachu. Pikachu was very unfriendly to Ash at first, until it was attacked by a flock of Spearow. Ash then risked his life to save Pikachu, proving to Pikachu that it has Ash's trust. From then on, Pikachu was not only Ash's most dependable Pokemon, but also his best friend.
