The Pittsburgh Steelers are a professional football team in America from Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. The Steelers are currently playing in the AFC North Division of the NFL. The team has the longest franchise in the AFC and have won the most Super Bowl titles in the NFL with six titles and eight appearances. Pittsburgh has also won more AFC Championship games at eight wins, and played in 15 and hosted more Conference Championship games then any other team in the NFL. The most recent super bowl with was Super Bowl XLIII on February 1, 2009 when they beat the Arizona Cardinals, 27-23. The Steelers were founded on July 8, 1932 as the Pittsburgh Pirates by Art Rooney. The ownership of the team has been the same since the founding. Pittsburgh colors are black, gold and white and is headquartered in UPMC Sports Performance complex. The current head coach is Mike Tomlin and their mascot is Steely McBean. |
